1. what is the procedure of selection of officers in the Indian navy ?

Ans: Recruitment into the Indian Navy is carried out on the basis of All India Merit. The number of uniformed personnel recruited  depends on the number of eligible applicants  who are able to qualify in the written test, SSB interview and medical examination and their relative position in the Merit. No distinction is made on the basis of gender/religion/caste/creed/region either during recruitment in Indian navy.

2. I complete my graduation from private institution , can I join the Indian navy?

Ans: It is mandatory that all Degrees and Educational Qualifications are recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). All candidates desirous of joining the Indian Navy must be physically/medically fit, as per laid down standards.

3. I have a NCC 'C' certificate , does the Indian Navy give me any preference for selection?

Ans: University graduates possessing NCC 'C' certificate with minimum 'B' grading and 50% marks in the graduation degree examination are inducted in the navy as regular commissioned officers. These graduates are exempted from appearing in the CDSE conducted by the UPSC and are selected through the SSB interview only. They are required to be a graduate in Science with Physics and Maths.
